Summary/Abstract: The essential premise of this article is that the Netherlands, in the European construction as a whole, is considered a country with a certain political and economic "weight", especially if we take into account the fact that it was among the founding countries of the European Union. However, social and political developments in recent years have meant that a new populist, agrarian and eurosceptic political party has emerged on the Dutch political scene, under the name of BoerBurgerBeweging (BBB), which translated means 'Farmers-Citizen Movement'. What's more important, in fact, is that this political party has managed to cause a real surprise in the last provincial elections, on 15 March 2023, really calling into question the future of Dutch politics, marked until recently by Mark Rutte's decade-long permanence as the country's Prime Minister. We will, therefore, see exactly how the Dutch electoral system works (considering that provincial elections are more important than we might think), what the roots of the BBB phenomenon are, and we will analyse what new developments it can bring to the political scene of this country, also taking into account the current political situation in the European Union. We will also try to draw a detailed analysis of contemporary Dutch euroscepticism.
