Summary/Abstract: The current approach to solving various problems in the region mainly stresses the support of small and medium-sized businesses, help in spreading technological innovations, decentralization measures in the public administration sphere, deregulation measures and the support of local initiatives by various subjects. Thus the local initiative gains bigger and bigger importance and becomes a key factor in regional development.
