Summary/Abstract: The contribution is paid to the up-to-date topic needs to mitigate the impacts of economic and financial crisis. The European Union and the Slovak Republic responded to the economic crisis by adopting the necessary measures. One of these instruments are the structural funds as a part of the cohesion policy, while the government of the Slovak Republic adopted a measure aimed at maximizing the utilization of finance from the structural funds, in the programming period 2007-2013. The above situation shows a need for communication, which responds to changed conditions and helps to soften the impact, and that will influence the implementation of the objectives of the measures taken. The contribution originated under the VEGA 1/4591/07 project.
