Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the word bezuslovno (undoubtedly; unconditionally; certainly, of course). The paper analyses the meanings and the usage of this word in the literature from the very beginning of 19th century to the modern Russian including the mass-media practice. Bezuslovno in this context functions as the most efficient way of manipulating the partner’s position, as the method of status distribution inside the communication. As a discursive word it can lose the meaning and can become the sign of agreement or disagreement (in an ironical context).
