Summary/Abstract: Raising the employment and improving the conditions in the labour market belong to priorities of the European Union policy, and also the Czech Republic policy. The basic tool for fighting the unemployment is the active labour-market policy. The paper which arose with financial support of VZ MSM 6007665806 analyses the situation at the labour market in Prachatice which falls into the mountain and piedmont region. It reports on ways and possibilities of solving the unemployment at this local labour market especially with the help of the active labour-market policy tools. It values the availability of the assertion of the active labour-market policy tools for individual job applicants who are endangered the most at the labour market.
