Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with one of ontological principles of comparative phraseology, namely, universality. The author of the article offers a definition of taxonomic types of corps of English, German, Ukrainian and Russian languages comparative phraseologisms according to such typological signs as „universality“, „frequentivity“, „specifity“ and „uniqueness“.
