Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the evaluation of the effectiveness of further education of pedagogic staff. This set of problems gains greater and greater importance in connection with a tight budget in the most of educational institutions. The process of the evaluation of effectiveness continues developing from the conservative approach of management to the described evaluating models. At the end of the contribution it is pointed out that it is very hard to figure out the value of knowledge and non-substitutable role of motivation of teachers in influencing the effectiveness of educational process.
