Summary/Abstract: The Open Source movement dates back to the 1980s. Each year the application of Open Source Software grows exponentially in areas of information technology. The purpose of the proposed text is to introduce the reader to the existing texts in Bulgarian, concerning the concept of Open Source and its reception in the Bulgarian library and information field.
