Summary/Abstract: Translating wordplay may be considered one of the greatest challenges posed by a text to its translator, no matter what the source language and target language are. Therefore, specialists have come up with a number of translation strategies, such as the ones proposed by Dirk Delabastita. The present paper aims to provide a brief overview of these strategies and to analyse some examples where they are employed, namely in Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, a text that abounds in wordplay.
