Summary/Abstract: This study presents a thematic analysis study conducted to understand high school students' perspectives on university, their decisions to go to university, their expectations, concerns and the factors affecting these decisions. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 75 12th grade students in Adana and the data obtained were evaluated using the thematic analysis method. The main focus points of the study include general views about university, evaluation of university education, decision to go to university and factors affecting it, dream of university. The findings resulting from the thematic analysis include various thoughts and feelings of the participants. The results of this study make an important contribution to understanding high school students' perspectives on university and the factors that are effective in shaping these perspectives. This information can provide a valuable resource for educators, guidance professionals, and policy makers to understand and support students' transition to college.
