Summary/Abstract: Reception Studies in XX century Spain have recently started to pay attention to the role of Shakespeare in the complex Spanish scenario from the end of the 19th century up to the Democratic Transition of the 20th. Works such as Shakespeare in Catalan. Translating Imperialism (2007) by Helena Buffery should be thus considered as a pivotal milestone in this tendency.
