Summary/Abstract: In a preface to her book, Freeman begins from Robert Graves’s poem “It’s A Queer Time.”Freeman finds many chapters of her book answers to the poem. She explains that theintroduction to her book projects a theory on the interconnectedness of time and history, and she explains main themes of the book’s chapters. The chapters are to constitutethought experiments in which Freeman explores not only remnants of failed revolutionsbut also moments when the established order of time is interrupted. Freeman’s bookis to refer to the historical “post-ness,” namely visual works and ephemeral art that aredeliberately selected from outside of canonical works.
