Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to identify factors that have a breakthrough impact on the professional development of female managers. In the literature so far, relatively few studies relate to factors of professional development of female managers. Moreover, a relatively low participation of women at the top management level in business practice leads to the identification and exposure of catalysts for professional development of managers. The research process used the CAWI method. The study involved 334 managers of basic, medium and high level management. For managers, a significant moment in their professional career was a change of work, promotion or specific acquired competences. The key conclusion that follows the conducted research is that the development of managers is largely conditioned by the manager’s self-awareness, self-confidence and courage in achieving professional goals.
