Summary/Abstract: Saint Symeon is well known as a respectable restorer and a dedicated defender of the authentic theology of the Church: trinitarian, ecclesiastical and existential, against scholastic, formal and intellectual theology promoted in the Byzantine Empire with no connection to the sacred reality of the Church. „Feeling” and „seeing” God, concepts intensely promoted by Saint Symeon, have made many people conscious of this spiritual reality. Saint Symeon’s thesis have deep roots in the doctrinal teaching of the Church, influenced by Saint Dionysius the Areopagite and theologically substantiated by Saint Gregory Palmas regarding the uncreated energies and the vision of divine light.
