Summary/Abstract: Information operations can and should be considered in the context of information warfare, and deepfake technology is a useful tool to conduct it. More and more often, competition and struggle does not take the form of an armed struggle, but a struggle for hearts and minds, and takes place in the so-called infosphere. This article presents considerations on the genesis of information operations, defines their concept and essence, defines deepfake technology and shows examples of using this technology in information operations, in historical and contemporary aspects.
