Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present issues related to the institution of a group action as one of the instruments of private law protection of the interests of participants in a tourist event. The author argues that a group lawsuit may become an effective instrument for claiming damages by participants of tourist events, but as a part of the lack of performance or improper performance of the contract by the organizer for participating in a tourist event. This effectively protects their interests provided that the legal regulations are changed. The number of lawsuits submitted and rulings issued indicates that the existing legal barriers do not allow an effective use of the institution of group summons for tourists to seek financial compensation from tour operators.
