Summary/Abstract: The present study aims to bring some explanations about the mourning by making a foray into the ancient traditions of the Romanians about the sensitive moment of death, but also presents different customs of other peoples, trying to rediscover some lost significance that the mourning had for all people in general. This work also illustrates the Christian point of view of those who understand the pain of death through the faith in the risen Christ.
