Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to draw attention to the problems that may occur during the assessment of violent death and the qualification of the event, both at the stage of preparatory and judicial proceedings. In investigative practice, there are suicides involving third parties. However, these events are rarely recorded in statistics due to detection and evidence problems. The article presents ambiguous cases of crime under Art. 151 Polish Penal Code - suicides, in which it was quite difficult to determine the intention of the deceased, as well as the role of the victim and the perpetrator in the event and their motivation. These included instigation or assisted suicide, abuse-induced suicide, suicide pact, and the extreme forms of attempted murder and solicited homicide. The article also refers to the definition of suicide, the typology of self-injury and suicide, the crime of homicide and euthanasia. The work was created on the basis of file research and analysis of statistics conducted by the National Police Headquarters (crimes detected and crimes detected).
