Summary/Abstract: In the VUCA world, certain competencies count in the job market, which include creativity, mental toughness, prospectiveness, ability to take advantage of random events, ability to build and manage teams, etc. Being a leader is determined by a number of factors, but a review of the literature on the subject indicates that leaders have the right qualities/ competencies to lead others and motivate them to act together. A leader is able to convince people of his or her ideas and make them work together to achieve the desired goal. This article presents the results of a qualitative study, conducted using the case study method. The purpose of the study was to explore and identify the motives of female leaders of Generation Z to take action in the area of self-development and management of their own resources, as well as leadership and management of the personal resources of others, and to highlight the factors that support leaders to take action for the development of themselves and others. The analysis of the case presented indicates that intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, family support, relevant character traits, and self-knowledge were motivating factors. The implementation of the project allowed the respondent to develop soft skills and team building and management skills.
