Summary/Abstract: An insight into the history of the Romanian cultural institutions from Maramures during the 19th and 20th century institutions that were situated in the forefront of the fight for the awakening of the national consciousness through language and culture, represents one of the most generous research themes by its wealth of information, encounter with an ancient civilization that continues to attract many researchers from the country and abroad. From the very beginning we would like to clearly point out that our approach focuses on the historical Province of Maramures. And this mission could not have been accomplished without the patriotism and sacrifice of the enlightened intellectuals that Maramures province had given to our culture.
