Summary/Abstract: The complex personality of the great Romanian scholar, George Calinescu, his creative talent, his deep humanism and patriotism led me to try a modest presentation of this image: writer-artist. Through its extensive work, Călinescu built a solid column of Romanian culture, an ornament of our national literature. The characters who populate his work are all those lives which caught contour under the great artist hand, characters that have talked about themselves and about their great creator. Calinescu has become a leader, because you can not take a step into Romanian culture without consulting and quoting the professor, as he liked to be called. Călinescu had passion and multilateral knowledge and by virtue of this he gathered information that was always so doubtless. His multilateral activities have risen from his biggest desire to experiment the whole literary field. What gave quite an unusual look to its characteristics, was an incomparable power of expression.
