Summary/Abstract: The complexity of Voiculescu’s work is represented by the multiple aspects of the search of Absolute, in its various forms, constantly oscillating between the two poles: earthly-heavenly; sin-virtue – the very essence of Voiculescu’s work. His poetic work is entirely an obsession to look for Absolute throughout his lifetime, therefore its presence is natural, more or less obvious, in his literary creation. The ascending imagination of the writer has two stages: exterior and inner, like a return to interior through love, which leads to the whole cognition of the Absolute. In this ascending movement to look for the Absolute the most relevant are the poetical symbols used by the poet. The circle and the center are symbols for the search of the Absolute on the horizontal level, the spiral, the ivy, the scale and the cross are symbols of the gradual spiritual ascension on the vertical level, up to the profound depth of the human being.
