The Union for the Cooperation with the Army (Svazarm). The Formation of the civil defence education in 1951–1989

Summary/Abstract: The goal of the paper is to analyse the issue of the civil defence education in 1951– 1989 and to define the activities of the Svazarm together with clarifying the political background of its establishment. In the introduction, basic findings to the civil defence education are summarised, the following chapters focus on the individual stages of establishment of Svazarm, taking into account the legislation process during the creation of legal norms pertaining to the civil defence education. The chapters capture important events and milestones in-between the Svazarm congresses, which is reflected in chapter structure. The paper is concluded by the current state of processing of the Svazarm archival documents and of the relating archives, amended by the editorial and publishing activity of the Union.
