Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to illustrate the differences that mass media creates between men and women. Highlighting these differences has a negative influence in many fields: women’ opportunities for a career, relationships between partners, teenagers’ growing up, etc. A small chapter discusses the sports magazines and the portraits of sportsmen and sportswomen in mass-media. The conclusion of the paper is that mass media tends to offer us a sketchy reality based on stereotypes.
