Summary/Abstract: Ottoman sigils are one of the most important sources for the study of social, economic, legal and administrative history during the period of the rule of the Ottoman Empire. This research focuses on the records in Sijilot II from the Sharia Court in Bitola in order to present more detailed information about the reasons why the Christian population turned to this court in the period from 1621 to 1623. In general, a distinction is made between records in which only Christians are mentioned and cases in which, in addition to Christians, Muslims are also included. By analyzing these records, we also analyze the relations between the Christian and Muslim communities during this period.
