Item is a prop? On the role of elements of material culture in Michał Głowiński’s prose

Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to apply the theatrical category of props to the analysis of Michał Głowiński’s literary texts. Using it, the author of the article draws attention to the important role of objects and their representations in the memoir and reflective prose of the author of „Tsar’s Cup” („Carska filiżanka”). He analyzes their degrees of meaning and the functions they fulfill.
