Summary/Abstract: The space of analysis of the events of the Second World War is the text – written memoirs of the great-aunt, preserved archival documents, and field visits made in the footsteps of relatives repatriated from Lithuania, through Podlasie, Warmia, Masuria and Pomerania. The juxtaposition of these elements serves to highlight the complex relationship between history, memory, identity, language, and land – as a source of knowledge about the past and a complex fabric of its image.
