Summary/Abstract: The challenges of today’s society fundamentally change the pastoral activity, both qualitatively and quantitatively. If the inner resources are the result of a personal work in relation to God, with one-self and with others, the external ones refer to programs, activities, knowledge, information with a specific role in the continuous formation of priests. Reviewing the already existing practices in a parish, deanery or diocese (monthly meetings, thematic conferences, training courses and specialized works for obtaining different degrees) with a role in the proper management of private or collective problems in the community, the present paper underlines the need for professional support within thematic groups through an intervision process.Completely different from supervision, group therapy, group confession or priestly meetings, the process involves mutual listening, empathic reflection and moral support, in an intimate setting and a small group, without a hierarchical structure. The group proceedings within the intervision meetings respond to the internal needs, generally valid for the human nature but especially to the clergy involved in the problems of the society, and the results are both on personal and pastoral level.Based on the existing models, in this article we propose a variant of pastoral intervision in the classical way, which can contribute to the psycho-spiritual formation of priests.
