Summary/Abstract: The objective of this study was to present on the fund of Zdeněk Nejedlý from Masaryk Institute and Archives of the CAS the process starting with the research of the collection focused on visual identification of photographic techniques and their physical condition up to the effort to discover possible reasons for damage to selected photographs. The fund of Zdeněk Nejedlý is the most extensive personal fund of Academic Science of AV ČR (extension of approximately 160lm). For this purpose there were visual observations and comparisons of originals that were further used for publication and exhibition purposes. Selected photographs were also surveyed for the frequency of their use in publications and for differences in the picture quality connected with used printing techniques. There were also observations linked with the popularity of publishing different crops of some photographs.
