Summary/Abstract: In this essay the author focuses on the issue of space design in literary works and its diversity. The author interprets and compares particularly the motives found in the works of F. Kafka (Metamorphosis, The Trial) and J. P. Sartre (No Exit, The Wall) trying to capture the points of contact and fundamental differences. In the play No Exit the author explains not only the specific work with space, but also with the time dimension. During the interpretation the author essentially refers to the philosophical, psychological and anthropological relations.
