Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes M&A in pharmaceutical industry with a special emphasis on how the global mergers of international corporations affect their local subsidiaries. It is based on the data, obtained from the survey conducted in the Lithuanian, Estonian and Latvian subsidiaries of the world leading pharmaceutical companies, which have merged in the period of the last three years. Arguing the hypothesis, that the loss of key employees during the merger indicate the faltering change in management knowledge, the paper discuses the problems causing resistance to change and analyses the reasons of employee turnover during the local integration process.
