Shaping the Concept of a Family in the "M jak miłość" Television Series

Summary/Abstract: In the article, the problem of shaping the concept of a family in the "M jak miłość" television series has been discussed on the basis of several episodes selected from the TV saga. The material for the present study consisted of a few early episodes from the year 2001, and some new ones from 2013. The analysed concept has been presented and examined here in the context of the theory of shaping meanings. The aim of the article was to illustrate changes that have been observed in the understanding of family values during the nearly 13 years of the series broadcasting. The author has also illustrated the alternative forms of the married-family life present in "M jak miłość" (single parenthood, single life, and reconstructed families).
