Summary/Abstract: The article presents the history of the archives of Jan Lechoń at the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America, based in New York, and Kazimierz Wierzyński at the Polish Library in London, noting the fundamentally different way in which they were created. It also discusses the inedita found in both collections, pointing out, on the one hand, why they would be worthy of publication years later, and on the other, signaling the multiple problems, of varying degrees of difficulty, that an editor would have to face. This applies to the unknown texts of Wierzyński’s series of radio storytelling Listy z Ameryki [Letters from America] and the autobiographical novel Aurora. Lechoń’s inedita include the novel Bal u senatora, known in small fragments, and a biographical and political sketch about Henryk Floyar-Rajchman, or political satires written in the style of Warsaw’s Wiech. A separate problem is Lechoń’s diary, a critical edition of which would require, first of all, a rereading of the extremely difficult manuscript.
