Summary/Abstract: Many papers have been dedicated to the ius III and IIII liberorum, the well-known set of rights introduced by Augustean legislation and further developed during Imperial Age. This speech intends to enhance the contribution of the epigraphic sources, which, not as numerous as one might think, preserve the memory of this particular ius, attested at Rome, in Italy and in the provinces. While the women, both freeborn or freedwomen, mainly mention the ius liberorum with regard to a transfer of property, the men beneficiary of this ius, members of the senatorial order but also freedmen, often mention it only with honorary purpose.
