Summary/Abstract: The author focuses his attention on Jewish grammatical studies in the Czech lands in the pre-Enlightenment and Enlightenment periods, and as for their representatives, above all on Hayyim ben Moshe Shaq, a Prague grammarian of the pre-Haskala period. Analysed here is Shaq’s grammar “Sefer Yad hayyim“ and its contents.
