Summary/Abstract: The paper summarizes the chief events in the life of the Kabbalist and Renaissance representative of Jewish Messianic belief. It analyses his character and also discusses some features typical of Molcho’s Kabbalistic and prophetic teachings contained in his “Sepher ha-mephoar“. The author comes to the conclusion that, in the end, Shelomo Molcho may have identified himself with the Messiah, son of Josef (Efraim).
