Summary/Abstract: Dr Bogdan Milanković was one of the key figures in the musical life of Sarajevo between two world wars. A doctor of Romance philology who spent his working life as a high school teacher, Milanković also served as director and teacher of the District School of Music, president of the Sarajevo Philharmonic, music writer, and violin maker. The article is a contribution to the biography of Bogdan Milanković based on archival sources and historical press, while trying to determine his influence to the development of musical culture in Sarajevo in the interwar period.
