Opinion on the cognition of Constitutional Court of Italy in the scope of the EU legislative acts.

Summary/Abstract: The opinion concerns the cognition of the Constitutional Court of Italy (Corte costituzionale della Repubblica italiana) with regard to the EU legislative acts. The author describes the evolution of the jurisdiction concerning the relations between the Community law and Italian state law and discusses the details of the most important judgments. The author concludes that the Court initially recognized its competence of controlling the compliance the EU legislative acts with the Italian constitution and was generally skeptical to the European law but later the Court changed the attitude to the EU law on more favorable.
