Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to children’s home I in L 417 in the Terezin concentration camp-ghetto. The boys led by professor W. Eisinger called their Terezin home the “Republic of Shkid“ (“Shkid“ stands for “škola imeni Dostojevskogo“, i.e. Dostoyevsky’s school). They followed the example of a Leningrad establishment for homeless children. The boys were also issuing an illegal mazagine of their own called “Vedem“, which is mentioned at the end of the article.
