EDUCATION: A GUARANTOR OF RESPECT FOR HUMAIN RIGHTS IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBAL CRISES

Summary/Abstract: The existence of a society that does not record the educational process among its main concerns is unimaginable. Nowadays, at this stage of massive construction of societies, the relational diversity within them threatens to divide and push them into chaos and anarchy; therefore, as they need a variety of codes of law to regulate different sectors of activity, they also primarily need a regulation of the individual’s development at least to the same extent. If law is exercised upon the individual, from the moment he becomes a legal object and sanctionable in case of disobedience to public order, committing himself to means of coerce and force, education, however, takes place focusing exclusively on pacifist methods; it focuses on guidance that may win the adhesion of its object and shape an individual according to a valid model in the respective society. Discrimination becomes a problem of conscience with depths of proportion within the European context. Thus, people must be educated in this matter given the fact that discrimination disrupts communion among citizens. It has been observed that this practice contravenes both human rights and the idea of civilization as support for cultural harmony. What unites people regardless of ethnicity, nationality, age, religious affiliation, etc., are the democratic rights granted to them.
