Youth and Educational Problems in the Second Polish Republic as seen in the Catholic Periodical Dzwon Niedzielny

Summary/Abstract: This article presents the educational problems of young people discussed in the pag- es of the Krakow Catholic periodical Dzwon Niedzielny (The Sunday Bell). Topics such as the general moral condition of the youth of that time, sexual ethics, and the role of the family and school in the educational process are highlighted. Also, pre- sented are the initiatives taken in Catholic circles, which were intended to show the manifestations of the demoralization of youth and its conditions as well as proposing appropriate remedial measures and the implementation of the actions taken in this regard. This problem, which mainly affected the Krakow community, is a reflection of the overall moral condition of young people in interwar Poland, posing a chal- lenge to the ethics and educational methods that the Church had or could have at its disposal.
