Summary/Abstract: The basic hypothesis of this paper suggests that children which belong to religious families with patriarchal values and which highly value education, achieve a higher school result then students which belong to modern and non-religious families. Traditional and modern families are depicted through Kolman’s division and characterization in this paper, because the whole idea of paper relates to his hypothesis and the study of the influence of social capital which family acquires on a religious gatherings, on the school success. The paper presents various definitions of social capital with a particular emphasis on Burdie’s definition and typology. Kolman’s research relates to the United States with higher religious diversity and different school structure, because of that paper presents examples of religious and educational research relating to the territory of Serbia.
