Summary/Abstract: Reducing the energy consumption of buildings is essential for mitigating climate change and is a key factor in achieving sustainability in the urban environment. This is particularly critical in the context of mass urbanization in developing countries, where rapid urban growth exacerbates energy challenges and increases the need for effective strategies to create sustainable and energy-efficient urban environments.The current study examines different approaches and technologies for reducing energy consumption in residential buildings. Their application is a step forward to achieve the technical characteristics of buildings with almost zero consumption.
