Summary/Abstract: A starting point of Jewish, Christian and Islamic history is the belief in one God which created man “in his own image”. The image refers not so much to the physical appearance as to the possibility of approaching an abstract way of thinking. Man, amid life events, could not understand God who dedicated Himself to him. The history of the Abrahamic religions is a history between faith and unbelief, between the real cult and idolatry. The world and its historical presence indicate a problem of bigotry, especially seen in relation to the Abrahamic monotheistic religions, i.e. Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Structural antagonism and hostility toward other traditions is a fertile soil for unrestrainedness and extremism, which cannot remain unpunished if we want to live in a peaceful society. Religions should advocate tolerance and pluralism, they should not openly aggravate the situation.
