Summary/Abstract: In the present day, there is a need for spiritual values to expand into the area of sports. Sports as a social occurrence are a multidimensional and complex phenomenon. This paper attempts to reflect on the elementary truths of theological teachings on man’s body and to apply them in athletic practice. The paper also gives a brief review and analysis of athlete’s body culture, the athlete’s being and theological aspects of the athlete’s body culture. The relationship between spirit and body in the works of theologians and philosophers from ancient times up to now is also discussed. The balance of athletic life is achieved through harmony of our bodies and spirits which leads to improved performance during training sessions and competitions. This benefits the development of athletic culture, thus bettering the culture of our society as a whole.
