Summary/Abstract: The prevalence of programmatic Party-related opuses can be viewed as a norm during the era of the so-called “developed socialist society”, i.e. the 1970s. A correlation is evident between the imperative for party commitment as an artistic principle in the developed socialist society and the guidance of creative endeavours based on the principles of public-state relations. The official artistic output of the 1970s revolves around the transformation of the ideological object, with “the modern hero” and “the modern topic” taking centre stage in an art that embodies the official paradigm of developed socialism. In other words, there was a requirement for creating works with programmatic narratives tied to official party celebrations and events. The cantata-oratorio genres, developed within the creative oeuvre of Konstantin Iliev, Georgi Minchev, Simeon Pironkov, etc., were never given equal consideration in official discourse. In essence, these opuses transform the national idea into a concept of protest. The statistics summarizing the works of representative socialist art, as well as how they were presented and won awards, consistently underscore the ideological notion of the “silence”, “tranquillity”, and “timelessness” typical of the 70s.
