Summary/Abstract: This publication is part of a larger study of crimes against the person and property in socialist Bulgaria (1944–1989). It examines their general detectability as a whole, as well as separately the four most significant among them – thefts of public and private property, robbery, rapes and intentional homicides. The reflection of a number of social, economic and political factors that accompany the process is also taken into account.
