Summary/Abstract: The paper studies new predicatives that have expanded the vocabulary of the Russian language in recent years, which determines the novelty of the research. The research materials include new word dictionaries, the Russian National Corpus, online sources, and contemporary prose and poetic texts. The primary aim of the study is to identify new language units as a factor of the development of a new linguistic category within the Russian language recognized by morphologists since the mid-twentieth century. Semantic, corpus, and pragmatic methods are employed in the analysis. The findings reveal a distinctive group of words exhibiting typical semantic and grammatical features of predicatives. The study also identifies the nominative and ludic (game) functions of the neologisms, as well as the increased prevalence of predicatives in contemporary texts and colloquial speech
