Summary/Abstract: This paper engages in the interpretation of hadiths that concern the sending of angels to the fetus in the womb. The paper comprises seven chapters. The first chapter presents the hadiths and some of their versions addressing the discussed topic. The second chapter provides insights into the period elapsed from conception to the sending of angels to the fetus or the infusion of the soul into the human being. The third chapter analyzes aspects of human destiny/ life that the angel records. The fourth chapter delves into the timing of determining the gender of the human and the significance of the section of the discussed hadith that addresses this issue. The fifth chapter presents various views of scholars regarding the interpretation of parts of the hadiths discussing the determination of human destiny in the afterlife. The sixth chapter builds upon the previous and discusses possible meanings of the terms shaqiyy (unfortunate) and saʻīd (fortunate) mentioned in the context of the sending of angels to the fetus in the womb. The seventh and final chapter addresses the question of the nature of God’s determination.
