Summary/Abstract: In 2022, Austria marked the 40th anniversary of the existence of Islamic religious education in Austria. Despite being present there for several decades, the progress of Islamic religious education has been slowed down due to the complexity of the challenges it faces. The research conducted with religious education teachers points out heterogeneous difficulties as well as the need for smooth functioning and the prosperity of Islamic religious education.
